Red Geraniums for Pentecost

Red geraniums will be used to decorate the chancel for Pentecost on Sunday, May 27. If you wish to take advantage of this group order, please find an order form in the May Messenger and return it with payment ($5 per geranium) by May 20. Order forms may be enclosed in pew envelopes or left at the church office during the week. After Pentecost, the geraniums will be planted on the church grounds.

Volunteers are needed to plant the geraniums after Pentecost. One or two people will be needed to take care of them during the summer. Please contact the office to volunteer.

Donations of jars of smooth (not chunky) peanut butter and jelly (not preserves or jam) will be accepted in order to help the “Let’s Feed Our Children” FREE summer feeding program for Sterling and Rock Falls children.

This summer St. John’s will again be a site for “Let’s Feed Our Children. Our kitchen will be used to prepare and distribute lunches to children in need in our church neighborhood as well as for various mobile feeding sites in Sterling. Your help is needed to assist with this community outreach ministry. Lunches are made and distributed each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout the summer.

Former Intern Rita accepts call in Minnesota
